What Could Cause Severe Itching, Warm Calf With Scars And Scabs Oozing Out?
I experienced sever itching on my right calf about 2 months ago. It itched day and night. There was no rash but the calf did feel very warm to the touch and the skin was very tight on that calf. I used an OTC anti-itch medicate , but that really did not soothe the itching very long. Then after several weeks, my leg developed scars & scabs from all of the scratching Now, all of the scabs have fallen except for 2. They remain on the wound. I scratched one off this morning but the other scab is still solidly remains in place. That particular scab seems to ooze periodically. What do you suggest that I do?
It may be sort of allergic skin condition. It may be allergic dermatitis or prurigo simplex. Consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment. Oral steroids in tapering dose, antibiotics and antihistamines may be taken under observation of dermatologist and topical antibiotic and steroid cream may be suggested by your doctor. Avoid soap for bath. Dettol liquid may be used for bath. Avoid the contacts and dietary food stuffs which are suspected triggers.
