What Could Cause Solidness Inside The Navel Which Is Painful To Touch?

I had a total hysterectomy 7 weeks ago due to the discovery of a large ovarian tumour. I have done everything required re post op recovery - however since Saturday I have had pain that at times is stinging, is tender at all times and hurts slightly to walk or bend - all in the area of my umbillicus. I spoke with my own GP this morning but he is unsure if it is a hernia. We had a long discussion about my bowel habits which he feels ruled out a strangulated hernia but I am really worried about this. There is 'solidness' on the inside of my navel, but isnt tender or painful to touch. Do you think I may have a hernia?
