What Could Cause Swelling, Redness And Warm Leg After Artheroscopy?
im waiting for another mri scan after artheroscopy 9 weeks ago as my left leg keep sweeling up going red and warm . im worried it may be dvt the hospital tryd to do a ultra scan but was told my thigh and knee where to bad to scan bruising and other things .
Hello, As you have given history of arthroscopic procedure followed by swelling redness and warmness of affected limb, DVT could be a cause of this condition as it is a complication of Arthroscopy procedure. But this can also occur due to infection or bleeding or extravasation of irrigating fluid. Venous thromboembolism is a life threatening complication of DVT. So you should consult your treating Surgeon for further management. They will do D-dimer test and Doppler USG , venography of affected limb. Doctor will also prescribe some medications like, anticoagulants, Thrombolytic, to apply Stockings. Thank you for consulting HCM.
