What Could Cause Swollen And Bruised Arms After Having IVs?
Hi I was in the hospital for 4 days a two weeks ago. I had 5 IV s in different locations throughout my arms. My left hand started to feel swollen and bruised about a week later. Each day it started swelling a little more. Now I have two large lumps, one on my wrist and one on my forearm. It is extremely itchy and feels very bruised. My arm looks deformed. What could have caused this?
Hi, It seems that you might be having thrombophlebitis on the part. Apply Thrombophob cream locally. Apply ice pack 2-3 times a days for 2-3 days. If there is pain or more swelling, go for one oral antibiotic medicine course for 3-5 days. Ok and take care.
