What Could Cause Twitches In Hip Area?

Hi, I am 26 years old and had a total hip replacement 4 months ago. Recently I have been having twitches in my hip area that usually occur at night. I have never had these twitches before and when they happen it is almost frightening. Could this be related to be hip replacement?

Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist 's  Response
Hello,

The twitching is caused due to the weakness of the muscles of the hip which are meant to stabilize the hip joint. Post hip replacement there is always advised to strengthen the hip muscles which helps to stabilize the hip joint and reduce muscle imbalances which are far common in most cases.

Please undergo hip joint muscle stabilization exercises so the twitching is reduced.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
