Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my 19 month old daughter has been having fevers for the past 3 days. All starting between 9 and 10 at night. her temperatures have reached 102. we have consulted with the doctors but they cant find anything wrong with her. we have been giving tylenol and also moltrin as perscribed by the doctor. what can we do and what is causing her fever.
Hi....by what you quote I feel that your kid is having a viral illness. 3 days of fever without localizing signs could be viral illness. If the kid is active in between 2 fever episodes on the same day you need not worry.
Fever of few days without any localizing signs could as well a viral illness. Usually rather than fever, what is more important is the activity of the child, in between 2 fever episodes on the same day. If the kid is active and playing around when there is no fever, it is probably viral illness and it doesn't require antibiotics at all. Once viral fever comes it will there for 4-7 days. So do not worry about duration if the kid is active.
