Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I'm Diana and for a while now, the corners of my mouth are chapped. I've been applying the same chap stick ever since it started up - regular, not flavored or scented - I believe it made it worse, actually. And I'm convinced that my lymph nodes underneath my chin & tongue(outside on the skin) are swollen. But they aren't bulgey. It just hurts to move my next around. What is wrong with me?
Understanding your concern. As per your query chapped corners of mouth could be due angular chelitis which occurs due to excessive licking . It could be due to dehydration and fungal infection as well. I would suggest you to apply petroleum jelly on it. You should drink plenty of water. Avoid exposure to sunlight. Apply lip balm throughout the day to retain moisture, drink plenty of water, use humidifier at home and apply vitamin E oil at night. It will be better to apply lip balm having SPF 30 .Eat green leafy vegetables and fresh fruits. You an also continue honey usage. Visit dermatologist once and get it examined. Start treatment after proper diagnosis. Take supplements rich in vitamin B12.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
