What Could Delayed Periods, Sore Nipples Indicate, Have History Of Tubal Ligation?

I had tubal ligation x 3 years ago and I am 2 days late of my cycle. I have been having headaches everyday, white vaginal discharge, breasts are swollen and bumps on nipples are dark and more pronounced. COULD I BE PREGNANT? MY CYCLE COMES EVERY 25 DAYS.

Hi, Thanks for choosing HCM.

It is rare but nor impossible to have pregnancy after tubal ligation. Sometimes the tubes get connected and recanalised so pregnancy is possible.

Also the pregnancy is more likely to be ectopic meaning that it is more likely to occur at sites other than the uterus like the tubes or the ovaries.

Other reasons for this may be hormonal imbalance especially thyroid and prolactin problems or even stress.

The best way to confirm this is by a pregnancy test done 7-10 days after the missed period. A blood test done now may also detect it. If it is negative, then a gynec examination and hormonal evaluation may be needed.

Hope this satisfies your query.
