Hello Monte!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

Her symptoms seem to be related to a musculoskeletal disorder.

Was her pain modulated by the body movements or respiration?

What was her blood pressure?

I recommend consulting with her GP for a careful physical examination, a resting ECG, a chest X ray study and some blood lab tests (complete blood count, PCR, sedimentation rate, blood electrolytes, kidney and liver function tests).

A thoracic column X ray study may be necessary to exclude a backbone disorder.

If all the above tests result normal, there is nothing to worry about.

In such case you should consider a possible musculo-skeletal pain or even anxiety.

Hope to have been helpful!

Greetings!

Hi, Monte. If she had an "inability to move," that could mean she passed out. Passing out during an arrhythmia could be dangerous, as she could get hurt from falling or get into a car accident while driving, if it occurred then. The safest thing to do would be to check this out at the Emergency Room. This "arrhythmia," an irregular heart beat rhythm sounds like it significantly altered her heart's pumping function, since it caused her to be short of breath, feel cold, and possibly pass out (some people get very dizzy without passing out). Depending on her age, the pain in her back or side could be significant too. She needs to be evaluated in the ER and have an EKG, chest x-ray, and have the EKG monitored for at least 24 hours (called Telemetry or a Holter Monitor). An Echocardiogram (sonogram of the heart) would also be done to look for structural abnormalities of the heart that would make arrhythmias more likely to recur.
