What Could Have Caused Temporary Blindness In The Right Eye In A 8 Yr Old Girl?
My 8 years old daughter experienced temporary blindness on her right eye, not detecting light from last friday at 6pm till the next day at 4pm, her vision came back. Eyes specialist dilate her pupil, eye test-eyes & vision perfectly healthy and normal. Vision 6/9. Please explain.
Vision is binocular. One can not know about one eye vision unless the other eye is closed. When eye specialist has checked the eye and said everything to be normal nothing to worry. Vison 6/9 is to be corrected and specs to be given if required.
Hello. This is an unusual condition for a 8 year old patient. Childhood migraine is a strong possibility and must be kept in mind.By the age of 15-16 years of age upto 5 % of children report with this. Migraine can result in temporary blindness especially in one eye. So does the patient have headache? Was it the first time has this happened? As specialist have seen and ruled out any pathology,do not worry.A neurologist opinion will be an useful adjunct to this problem,
