What Could It Be If Having Severe Headaches, Pain Behind The Eyes, Sore Behind Ears, Sore Glands, Occassional Sweating And Chills?

I ve been having severe headaches for 7wks, along with aching behind the eyes, sore behind my ears, sore glands, occasionally sweating and chills, naucious feeling. My Dr sent me for bloodwork & a CT scan which all came out normal. I can t believe a virous of some sort can last this long, I ve been taking Advil extra strength when it get s to unbearable but it just takes the edge off of it for a while. Do you have any suggestions a to what it might be and why its lasting so long?

Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

I carefully read your question and understand your concern.

Your symptoms seem to be caused by a viral infection. You should know that sometimes, a viral infection could lead to a prolonged symptomatology.

Your performed CT scan has excluded possible sinus infection or intracranial lesions, which could be related to this symptomatology.

Your performed lab tests have excluded possible bacterial infection or metabolic disorders.

I would advise you to closely monitor your blood pressure and refer it to your doctor.

A brain MRI should be planned in the future if the headache persists.

I recommend discussing with your doctor on the possibility of starting a preventive therapy ( an antidepressant ) for at least three months. It will help you recover from this situation.

Besides a balanced diet and a lot of physical activity would help you.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!
Greetings!
Dr. Aida
