What Could Lack Of Sleep With Breathing Difficulties Suggest?

I am a 21-year old office girl who really has a problem with sleeping. Because my work is too stressful, I only get to sleep 4-5 hours every night during weekdays. Because of this, I tend to oversleep during weekends for like 10-14 hours. I do this to compensate the lack of sleep I had on weekdays. Now I notice that sometimes, I can't breath and my heart is somewhat aching. Is there something wrong?

Hello
Welcome to HCM.

Your symptoms like difficulty in breathing and heart pain in background of stress suggest an anxiety disorder.
Also there is high possibility that your disturbed sleep cycle has led to this.
However if the breathing difficulty is at night during sleep alongwith increased sleeping in daytime, this may be sleep apnea.

I suggest you to visit a psychiatrist to reach to a proper clinical diagnosis.

You can also try some antianxiety medications like tablet clonotril or ativan.
Also practice relaxation techniques like deep breathing, yoga etc.

Hope this helps you.

Thanks.
