What Could Mucosal Thickening Of Maxillary Sinus In MRI Report Suggest?
I have sudden loss of hearing on right ear.My MRI results shows that I have circumferential mucosal thickening of the left maxillary sinus and also enhancement of mucosa. A mucous rentention cyst versus polyp posteriorly and medially. Scattered opacification of the ethmoid air cells.
As the report says it could be mucous retention cyst, polyp. It also can be a growth mass, HRCT high resolution computer tomography of the temporal bone can also give valuable details ( with contrast)
Scattered opacification of the mastoid air cells indicates involvement / extension of the lesion.
Finally definitive diagnosis will be BIOPSY - Endoscopic guided. Depending on finding the treatment depends on. Good luck.
Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health. Anything to ask ? do not hesitate. Thank you.
