What Could Painful Pimple Like Bumps Around And Inside The Vagina Indicate?

My wife has developed painful pimple like infections around and inside her vagina. She said it started a week ago on the way to Vegas with her sisters when she mentioned to them that she had a pimple on her butt and it was painful. And since then it got worse, what could that be, again she said it is very painful.???

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Painful bumps or pimple like lesions can occur due to bacterial infections. You may require a course of oral or topical antibiotics to reduce the infection. Maintaining vaginal hygiene is also essential. Kindly check your blood sugar levels since diabetes can also cause frequent bacterial infections.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
