What Could Peeling White Patch On Foot With Strong Odor Indicate?

Hi i have a good size white patch on my foot just below my big toe but goin up between them. It also has lil holes through out it (like it may be peeling in some way). It also has a strong oder that i cant even wash away. It only smells in that area. I have been using tinactin for a few weeks now an nothing has changed. Any thoughts??

Hi there.
What you describe sounds like a Fungal infection called as Tinea. It usually arises due to increased moisture in the space between your toes. Now the Tinactin did not act in your case probably due to one of the following reasons - either you did not maintain proper hygiene or the infection is resistant to Tinactin. So i suggest you try this -
Antifungal Clotrimazole both as powder and ointment. Wash the toe and surrounding areas thoroughly with soap at least 2 times a day and dry properly with a dry tissue and dispose it.
Then during day time apply Clotrimazole dusting powder over the area after your morning bath or after you clean the area.
Once in the evening wash again with soap and water and let it dry and then apply Clotrimazole ointment and let it stay overnight till you wash in the morning. Try this cycle of powder during the day and ointment during the night. It has produced good results in a lot of patients.
Do not try to peel it off as it may produce small amounts of bleeding or may burn a lot.
