What Could Pop Near Elbow, Pain In Forearm, Wrist And Lower Tricep After Lifting Heavy Weight Suggest?

I was lifting something heavy and felt a pop near my elbow. With my palm up, I feel pain on the outside of my forearm. When I rotate my wrist, I feel the pain, and sometimes the pain can be felt in my lower tricep. The injury happened about 4 weeks ago and doesn't appear to be improving. Any ideas?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

Based on the description, you might have suffered injury either to the tendons or the ligaments around the elbow region. Xrays will be usually normal in soft tissue injuries. An MRI scan of the injured area is necessary to know the extent of damage to the soft tissue structures.

The definitive management will depend on the condition diagnosed. I suggest you to consult an orthopedic surgeon for a detailed evaluation and further management.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
