What Could Predominance Of Coccobacilli In Pap Smear Test Suggest?
i recently went to the doctor to get a pap test because i was getting an odd odor coming out and a discharge of white stuff and got my pap test results and they say: negative for intraepithelial lesion and malignancy. cellular changes associated with inflammation are present. predominance of coccobacilli consistent with shift in vaginal flora is present... This is the first time i get my pap test, should i call my doctor and make another appointment, im a confused about my results.
Hi! Welcome to HCM! Your pap smear result is negative for any premalignant lesion, findings which are present are not related to the risk of cancer .White discharge with odour generally indicate infection by candida or bacteria,so the coccobacilli flora and polymorphs indicate infection.Benign Cellular Changes, occur as a response to injury or inflammation. You can get a vaginal swab culture senstivity done and a course of antibiotics will be required. Take care!
