What Could Recurring Dull Pain In Kidney Area Indicate?

I have a dull ache/pain in my kidney area. It moved from the back to the front yesterday and then moved to the other kidney. My urine flow is normal but two weeks ago I had the same pain and very little urine flow. I drank a lot of water and cranberry juice and then after several hours felt relief and flow returned to normal. I was wondering if I was passing another stone that is just moving slower or what could be causing this pain now.

Hello,

You are suffering from recurrent dull pain in the kidney area. Your urine flow is presently normal. Recurrent pain may be indicative of an infection, injury or another health problem, such as kidney stone, UTI, dehydration, stones or other problems that obstruct the ureter that drains the kidney, etc. Stay adequately hydrated and get urinalysis (C/S and R/E), imaging tests (CT, ultrasound for detailed study), X-ray done to detect the pathology causing you symptoms.

Get clinically examined by a GP or a Urologist. You will be accordingly treated. In the meantime, you can take Acetaminophen (Tylenol), one SOS when needed for relieve from discomfort. In the meantime, you can take natural diuretic like water melon, celery, grapes, berries, black coffee, parsley, etc. Stay away from addictions if any. Avoid getting over exhausted and stressed.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
