What Could Red, Itchy Patch Near The Ankle Indicate?

Hello! I noticed a small red patch near my ankle about a month ago. At first I thought it was a mosquito bite, but it didn t go away. A pharmacist recommended me trying a cortisone cream, but it didn t work. It s red and itchy sometimes. What could it be?

I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to fungal infection or eczema. For such condiition i would recommend using ointments with combination of antifungal agents like miconazole,antibacterial agents like gentamycin and corticosteroid like clobetasol for local application. If you send a picture then it will be more helpful in identifying. Do you have scaling or silvery appearance?
