What Could Stomach Pain With Breathing Difficulties Suggest?
I was in hospital two days ago with sever pain in my stomach and back, I could hardly breath... the hospital is relating it to stress and wrote a letter to my GP asking him to attend to me by describing anti depression medication... I havent been able to eat for couple of weeks, this happens to me alot when I stress... My GP thinks its to do with my bowls and put on colofac for a week to see how i go... Im confused for its been so many years that ive been sufering like this.. what do you think?
Colofac is used in the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome. It is an antispasmodic which means it reduces contraction of the intestines.
If you do have symptoms in keeping with irritable bowel syndrome then it should help you.
Reduced appetite can occur with depression and/or anxiety. These mood disorders can also be associated with additional symptoms. Antidepressant medications would help with either of these conditions. The colofac would not help with these illnesses.
Your doctor may also want to consider screening for these.
I hope this helps
