Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Could Sudden Catch In Heel Area Along The Back Of Foot Mean?
I have a problem with my left foot. It appears that there is a catch in my heel area along the back. When it catches I have to stop and adjust my foot before I can take another step without my foot giving under me. This has been a problem for a few months now and it is beginning to affect my left ankle next to the catch area. Any ideas on what it may be?
It can be a bone growth or swelling in planter region. This type of pain is called planter fasciitis. I would recommend you to get x ray of your heel region to confirm the diagnosis. Till that time, you should use warm water for heel bathing. Avoid walking barefoot or use of very hard shoe.
