What Could Sudden Cramps With Pins And Needles In Hand With Chest Pain Indicate?
I just had dinner, and was using a fork and all of the sudden my hand cramped up real back, I had no control, then started to feel like pins and needles and dizzy and flushed at the same time and also swollen stomach along with back discomfort, prior to that day I had chest pains from slight activity where I had to lay down as it felt like my heart was about to jump out of my chest, what could it be?
Hello and welcome to HCM, Chest pain on slight activity is of concern. The chest pain could be an indication of ischemic heart disease (IHD). I suggest you to consult a cardiologist for clinical assessment with relevant investigations like ECG and echocardiography. Although chest pain can occur due to other reasons like muscular pain, respiratory tract involvement or gastrointestinal tract involvement/ cardiac pain needs to be ruled out at the first place. Sudden cramping of hand followed by pins and needle sensation suggests neuro-muscular involvement. Neuro-muscular involvement refers to involvement of nerves and muscles by some disease process. Compression of nerves can lead to pins and needle sensation. Thus,a clinical assessment is required followed by relevant investigations to know the cause of symptoms.
