What Could The Protruding Vein In Arm With Intense Pain Be A Result Of?

Hi. My forearm has been hurting for a couple of weeks now towards the top near the inside of the elbow. There is a vein popping out about 3 inches long which is where the pain hurts most. It has also hurt down towards the wrist and also in my ring finger although this was just once. What could this be?

You have not told which forearm is affected. However the description you gave suggests it could be vein of forearm placed beneath skin getting inflammed and hard due to blood inside clogged. It is known as Superficial thrombophlebitis. If it is occurring repeatedly in other sites and if you are female on hormones, please take a visit to hospital for right direction.
