What Could X-ray Showing Indentation On Lung For Symptoms Of Shortness Of Breath, Night Sweats And Cough Indicate?
hi my husband is 66 he has shortness of breath on excertion with cough and night sweats also has no energy xray showed indentation on the lung what does this mean he is on antibiotic for 10 days but no change.when he finished it is his second antibiotic has to have another xray can u explain what might be wrong he is a non smoker.man y thanks
hello welcome to hcm i am apulmonolgist and iwould like to answer your question as you are saying aindentation( cavity ) in xray of your husband with cough,night sweats an d sob and had taken antibiotics for more than 10 days. iwould suggest you to get sputum examination done for AFB( tb bacilli) and grams stain and culture and sensitivity rather than going for another chest xray. if you are form indian subcontinent with features of above symptoms it could mostly be tb hope your husband gets well soon with warm regards DR sunil
