What Diet Should Be Followed To Keep TSH Levels Under Control?
HI.. DOCTOR .. My name is Ambika bhat, I am from sirsi town in Karnataka state uttara kannada district. I am suffering from hypothyroidism from six years and taking Thyronorm 100mcg regularly in morning empty stomoch. My TSH level is 3 now. Five years back it was 72.. My question is what diet should i maintain to keep the level.. together with this medicine I am taking Glycomet 850 SR daily one and Telvas Am 80/5 daily one... i want some advice from you.
To keep your TSH level in the range of 0.3-3 mIU/L, you should take thyronorm as prescribed. In addition you should take healthy foods like eggs, meat, fish, fruits and vegetables, dairy products and non-caffeinated beverages. You should avoid processed foods, alcohol, soy milk, supplements like selenium and zinc, vegetables like broccoli, spinach, and cabbage, fruits like peaches, pears, and strawberries.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
