Diabetologist 's  Response
Hi, welcome to our site. I am Dr Saumya Mittal.

Read your query. That is a very significant question and i appreciate your problem. I will try my best to answer your query

The sugars can rise regularly during pregnancy. It usually settles after pregnancy, but be careful in future, cause it increases the potential for developing diabetes in later life.

The sugars should be tested regularly.

Now coming to the second part of your question- the diet.
Well as a diabetician, I usually ask my patients to have everything they want to eat, but in small proportions. I just ask them to be regular in what they eat and how much they eat.

In your case, obviously the child derives all its nutrition from you. So I would recommend a normal diabetic diet where you reduce and restrict the carbohydrates in the diet-in simple words, cut the sugars.
As your liver enzymes are mildly deranged, I would suggest avoiding oils also.

Keep having fair amounts of proteins. The body and the child will need both.

I am sorry I cannot answer more exactly because I do not know what type of meals you like and what foods you prefer.

As for your liver enzymes, monitor them regularly- the same as sugars.
Personally I would not target too tight a sugar control in my patient cause an episode of hypoglycemia could be disastrous.

I hope this helps you. Inform the reports mentioned above so i can be of help further. Best of luck.

I have given you the answer to the maximum considering the information provided. The results of the tests could further enhance my answer to you.

Please do understand that some details could be extracted from a detailed history and examination.

Looking forward to your return query with the details asked so that I can help you further.
