16 year old male with chronic mouth sore for over a year, right leg pain and fatigue had cbc with manual diff wbc 10.2 ref range 4.5-12.0 10^3u/ rbc 4.98 ref range 4.70-6.10 10^6/u hemoglobin 14.8 ref range 13.0- 16.0 G/DL hematocrit 43.2 ref range 36.0- 50.0% mcv 86.7 ref range 78.0- 98.0 FL mch 29.7 ref range 27.0- 31.0 PG mchc 34.3 ref range 32.0- 36.0 G/DL rdw 12.5 ref range 11.0- 16.0% platelet 228 ref range 130- 400 10^3/u mpv 12.1 ref range 9.0- 13.0FL neutrophil% 47.9 ref range 45.0- 69.0% lymphocyte% 28.9 ref range 20.5- 45.0% monocyte% 8.0 ref range 2.5- 18.0% eosinophil% 14.6 H ref range 0.9- 5.0% basophil% 0.6 ref range 0 .0- 2.0% # neutrophil 4.9 H ref range 2.2- 4.8 # lymphocyte 3.0 ref range 1.3- 3.2 # monocyte 0.8 ref range 0.3- 1.0 # eosinophil 1.5 H ref range 0.0- 0.2 # basophil 0.1 ref range 0.0- 0.1 manual diff not indicate could you help me in trying to figure out what is wrong with my son
Hello and welcome to HCM, The interpretation of the blood report is as follows:
The red blood cell count, total leukocyte count, hemoglobin and hematocrit value are all within normal limits.
The differential count shows an elevated percentage of eosinophils. Eosinophils are raised in conditions like allergy- asthma, hay fever, urticaria,etc , parasitic infections, drug allergy etc. The elevated eosinophil count has to be correlated with the clinical findings.
Rest all the parameters are within normal limits.
