What Do Episodes Of Fainting After Starting Atenolol Indicate?

My husband dropped 50 lbs intentionally and had been on atenolol which was starting to cause him to faint. The doctor put him on Metoprolol Succ Er 25 mg tab to replace the atenolol. Is this a positive change or do we need to be concerned about his fainting, near fainting episodes?

drug is for hyper tention. but it causes bradycardia. can induce depression insomnea and related problem of cardiac arrest.
