What Do Headaches Along With Swelling In The Lower Gums Indicate?
I have been researching what could be wrong with me. I was out of the country for 3 weeks and when I got back I started with a cold. I let it run 2 weeks, the after the 3rd week it wasn t better so I went to Urgent Care to see a doctor last weekend. I had been having really bad headaches, I thought I might have a Sinus infection even though I didn t have really any drainage. We decided to wait till Monday for a CT Scan and that showed not a sinus infection but inflammation in my sinuses. So she put me on a Steroid. I feel like my whole brain is swollen and now it is affecting my gums. it started by 1 tooth the other day and now my whole lower gums are swollen. I do get tingling in my feet and have a little problem with balance but don t seem to have much of a fever. My face was flushed like a butterfly but I don t know if that is from medication or not. I was thinking I could have encephalitis, meningitis, or even MS? I ve left message for the doctor to call me back but haven t hear from her yet,
As per my surgical experience, the swelling in the lower gums with headache suggests possible viral infection involving the salivary gland.
The primary relief with gargling of salted lukewarm water, anti-inflammatory medicines and dietary care to support recovery. Prescription of antibiotic along with concurrent steroid is a must need.
