60 year old female for follow up pneumonia TECHNIQUE:: PA and lateral views of the chest are obtained. COMPARISON: 8/7/2017.FINDINGS: Since the previous examination there is significant resolution of previously seen abnormality in the right upper lung. Small area of focal triangular appearing pleural-based density persists. Lungs are hyperaerated.what does the hyperaerated mean?

hyperaerated lungs indicate that there is more air in lungs then normally should be. causes include:
-deep inspiration.
-COPD.
-asthma.
since the patient is recovering from pneumonia, there might be some element of small airway obstruction.
follow up after 6 weeks is recommended.
