Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am having itches which when I scratch leaves the area red and swollen. It first appeared on my legs. After using warm water and castor oil, it stopped but the itching appeared on my arm. Then I treated it the same. Now its on my elbow. Am wondering what it could be. I picked up some anti-bacteria cream hoping that will help.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of itchy rashes on the legs which can be due to many reasons like allergic reaction, contact dermatitis, eczema, and heat rash or sweat dermatitis. Need not to worry. Apply ice pack to reduce redness and itchiness. Maintain good personal hygiene. You should avoid silky clothes as it leads to more heat generation. Use a powder to avoid sweat collection and apply calamine lotion at the sites of the lesion. If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination.
