What Do Low RBC, Absolute Lymphocyte And Neutrophil Counts Indicate In A Blood Test Report?
I just had blood work done and it showed that my RBC was low and neut percent was low absolutely lymph low âND THE AST AMINOTRANSFERASE BILIRUBIN TOTAL ALKALINE TRANSFERASE ARE SLIGHTLY HEMOLYZED ! DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS COULD MEAN? DR CANT FIND ANYTHING WRONG
Hi, thanks for asking on Healthcaremagic. Rbc count if mildly low associated with normal hb should not be a cause of worry. If your wbc count is low it means you have leucopenia. However it could be a transient phase due to an underlying viral infection which will normalise once the infection clears. Your biochemistry reports are not performed as the serum sample was not good ie it was haemolysed. Haemolysed means rbcs broke down while sample collection or transportation. I suggest you give a fresh sample for your tests as haemolysed sample might have interfered I your rbc count too. However nothing to worry by what is available in the reports.
