What Do Mild Diffuse Annular Disc Bulge And Uncinate Osteophytes Mean?

I just received mri results. C3 through C7 with exception of c5/c6 which was replaced last december. all say mild diffuse annular disc bulge as well as uncinate osteophytes. C6 c7 says narrowing of the neural foramina bilaterally. I also have thorasic mri results that are similar. I m unfortunately not a Dr and trying to get a better understanding on what this means. Any info would be greatly appreciated

Hi,

The soft tissue between vertebrae is getting compressed and gets bulged out probably secondary to weak bones or osteoporosis so neurosurgical review may be needed where disc bulge is so much that it's pressure may cause compression on nerves around it.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
