What Do Muscle Cramps In The Calves And Feet Indicate?
I get cramps all the time- day or night, calves, feet, toes - I try to stretch the muscke like pointing mytoe and trying to rub out the knot, but why do I get them? Sometimes they occur while I am sleeping and I awake screaming in pain. YYYY@YYYY I have tried drinking lots of water thinking I was dehydrated as I ordaniarly drink Pepsi. My husband has heart problems and hehas potassium pills which he occassionally gives me - once or twice a month - but my blood test show no signs of low potassium and I am not anemic.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advise.
Go for serum calcium examination. I think these are typical hypocalcemic muscle spasms. Just confirm it by above test and start calcium + Vit D3 therapy as per physicians advice.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards Dr. Hiren
