What Do My Lab Test Reports Indicate?

Dx with trigeminal neuralgia a yr ago. Had MRI and CT scan in Apr 2017 which showed an undefined 10 mm lesion on foramen rotunda. Neurologist said wait and see and redo CT scan in Oct which was done and she left me a message saying all good, no change in lesion and to continue with meds. I insisted on a phone conversation which will happen tomorrow. I have already reacted to carbamazapine and ended up in hospital for 5 days. now on gabapentin that has been increased already as having pain and makes my drowsy, memory loss, brain fog, etc. my research shows that the maxillary nerve goes through this rotunda....so isn t this the reason for my trigeminal neuralgia? What other questions can i ask her tomorrow? I don t want just wait and see. I ve had to quit my job due to memory loss and drowsiness. Can t live this way.

Hello,

Your yes foramen rotundum transmit the maxillary branch of the trigeminal nerve.

Which may supply to upper lip, lateral nose, Malir prominence and anterior part of temporal skin etc.

Yes, compression of this nerve leads to pain in this areas. Your doctor is following this growth.

If this growth is increasing size lead to nerve compression so they are following with repeated scans. Then it may need decompression surgery.

Please consult your neurologist he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
