Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Do Numbness And Tingling In The Toes After Knee Replacement Procedure Indicate?
My friend had knee replacement and is 68 non smoker, non drinkker had knee replacement with spine anesthetic and nerve block in leg 6 weeks ago. She has been doing home therapy but she has had numbness and tingling in toes and feet and tongue, Her knee doctor said he did his job
as history narrated by you after knee surgery, post nerve block this type of tingling and numbness is quite common, sometimes this is due to no active movements post surgery, or due to anaesthetics given during surgery. this would take some time to get better, anyways don't panic, also I would suggest your friend to get vitamin b12 status checked, if it's deficient then diet like chicken, yogurt, paneer, dairy products etc is suggested. Also let me know whether your friend is diabetic, need to check blood sugar status also
