What Do Pain And Stiffness In The Right Middle Finger Indicate?

Can you tell me what could possibly be the diagnosis of my middle finger on my right hand? I am having stiffness and a moderate amount of pain when I bend my finger, try to grip anything or try to completely straighten it. I have not had any type of injury or accident with it, and do not use it repetitively. The pain and stiffness started about 3weeks ago, lasted a few days and went away. Now it is going on the second day being back and is very sore. Thank you, C. Martin
