What Do Pain And Swelling In The Toes Of The Right Foot Indicate?

My 22 year old daughter who has no outlying medical problems has had the 4 toes in her right foot swell, turn reddish purple and are cool to the touch. They also hurt if she puts pressure on them. Have had them x-rayed in there was no trauma to the phalanges. She has had problems with swelling and pain in her neck and lower back.
