What Do Persistent Hot Flashes In A Male Indicate?

I m a 41 yr male. I ve been having hot flashes for about 2 years , some days I ll have none and other days I ve had upto 8. This is usually accompanied by confusion and low energy. I ve been to the doctor and had blood tests done. Not sure what they looked for but said they didn t find anything. Just wondering if you might be able to suggest a specific test or cause for it. Thanks
