Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Qi have a 48 year old daughter with cerebral palsy. She has developed half a dozen raised pimple like spots on her labia area. They are the same color as her skin but feel hard to the touch and she does not walk and is very prone to boils in the same area. Any thoughts? She has never had sex of any type.
1. It is very unfortunate to hear that she is suffering from CP [cerebral palsy] and since there is no definite/fruitful treatment in medical science thus physiotherapy and occupational therapy is the mainstay of treatment.
2. Now coming to your present query, since she is a diagnosed case of CP thus is vulnerable to infection most of the time, so check with an OBG/GYN doctor to evaluate whether it is a pimple [contact dermatitis/folliculitis] or something else.
PS. although genital herpes is transmitted through sexual contact [ as it is absent], make sure to exclude other routes of infection [anus/skin/oral].
3. If you are concerned about the same have your doctor/nurse check out these, who can advise on prognosis and available treatments, till then maintain her good hygiene [regular washing of vaginal area, choose cotton undergarments and avoid fabrics]
