What Do Posterior Bulging Of Disc At C3-7 And Apical Ligament Rupture At C1-2 Mean?

I had an MRI done a little over a year ago. It showed posterior bulging of the disc at c3-7. An apical ligament rupture, likely chronic at C1-2. A small Tarlov cyst within the right neural foramen at C5-6. Hemangiomas within the upper thoracic spine. Post surgical change at L5-S1 with the artificial disc (I also have a plate and 4 screws) and mild focal right paracentral bulging of the disc at L1-2. I asked a new Dr that I was sung what this all meant and he told me there was really nothing wrong. Now over a year later I have lost the feeling in my arms and legs bilaterally and I am currently in more pain than I ever have been? What do I do? Is there really nothing wrong because my back says different

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

There is disc bulging also called as slip disc. It causes a narrowing of spinal foramina with pressure over the nerves originating from spinal cord. This causes severe LBA and radiating pain to legs. Consult your clinician for pain killers, physiotherapy, vitamin B12 supplementation and lifestyle modifications. At times, it requires decompression surgery.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ajeet Singh, General & Family Physician
