What Do Pressure And Sharp Pain In Abdomen During And After Periods Suggest?

A week before my period I was feeling pressure in my abdomen and when I got it I was in a lot of pain. Now that is over I still get sharp pistons in my right and left side. I also feel a weird pressie right next to my pelvic bone that feels like it s sore. Are these signs of a yeast infection or vaginal congestion? Should I seek medical attention?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think you should get further checked doing an abdominal ultrasound because ovarian cysts present can cause this pain. Take anti-inflammatory drugs such Advil or naproxen for pain. I don't think this can be infection.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
