What Do Recurring Hematuria After Stent Placement Suggest?

I had a kidney stone removed and stent placed 2 months ago. After removal of the stent no hematuria for 3 weeks. I am now 2 months out and still having intermitant hematuria. I had an RP 14 years ago and RT 6 years ago. Did the stent irritate an underlying radiation cystitis? Injury from the stent? Concerned?

Hello,

Occurrence of hematuria three weeks after removal of stent needs to be invested with ultrasound pelvis. It could be due to physical trauma or cystitis as suspected by you. However, caution needs to be practiced and relevant investigations need to be done.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
