What Do Red Rashes On The Arms, Back, Neck And Legs Indicate?
I have small red blotches on my arms, back, neck and legs. The doctor said it was pityrasis rosea? She did not prescribe anything and said it should eventually go away. What is this and when is eventually The spots appear daily in various places on my body.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of red rashes on the arms, back, neck and legs which seems to be that fact that you are being exposed to the allergen and this is the reason that the allergic reaction is persisting.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take proper course of antihistamine drug along with short course of oral corticosteroids after proper prescription. Cover your skin while going outside to protect you skin from harmful UV radiations. Wash skin with solution containing Salicylic acid and apply cream containing Azelaic acid. Drink plenty of water, eat fresh fruits and vegetables for mineral and vitamins. If condition doesn't get better in a month then consult dermatologist again for proper diagnosis and to rule out any underlying condition. Doctor may prescribe Isotretinoin, steroid ointment or antibiotics course.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes!
