Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I m a 27 year old female 155lbs and 5 4. I have very small red flat pinprick looking dots all over my skin. They don t itch and they are not in patches but spread mostly on my arms and a couple on my thighs and stomach. I noticed them last summer and it seems like i m getting more.I m wondering if they are cause for concern since I can t see my Dr for another month and it s making my anxiety crazy. I have had a metabolic panel and blood test done in the last 6 or so months and everything was normal. ( I had it done because I was having bad anxiety and we were trying to figure out the cause. )
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As per your query you have symptoms of red spots all over the body which seems to be contact dermatitis, allergic reaction to allergens and could be due to environmental factors.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to give cold compresses to red spots several times a day to prevent from swelling and itching and take over the counter antihistamine drug like Benadryl. Don't itch and prick rashes. Wear cotton clothes. If symptoms still persist the consult dermatologist for proper examination and treatment. Doctor may perform skin test and challenge to find out the trigger factor. Doctor may prescribe other steroid cream, anti inflammatory drug or drugs that can suppress immune system.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
