What Do Right Upper Lobe Mass And Lung Lesion Mean?
i have two queries. Firstly my daughter has had a productive cough since Dec. The GP has sent her fo ugent chest xray yesterday with right upper lobe mass and ? lung lesion. He rang this morning to see if she went for th xray. Is he being just over cautous or do you think he suspects something sinister i.e cancer or could it just be mucous he has heard on examination.?
1.The report suggest there is a ? mass lesion on x-ray. 2.X-ray is not a definitive for diagnosing a lesion in the chest wall / lung / pleura. 3.It can be localised pleural effusion, patchy opacities - confirmed with a CECT - contrast enhanced computer tomography will help in definitive diagnosis. 4.Initially a course of antibiotic with a followup x-ray will be helpful - if not resolved needs further investigation with CECT. 5.The CT if there is a mass lesion a BIOPSY will be definitive diagnosis. Good luck.
Hope i have answered your query, any thing to ask do not hesitate to ask. http://doctor.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-ganesh/62888
