I have been on Prilosec 40mg for 6 months for dr diagnosed me with a hiatal hernia. As of the last 4 days I ve had sharp pain in the center of my stomach with pain radiating down on left side, headache, lack of appetite, hair loss, and nausea. Pain is relieved if I lay in a ball or put pressure on stomach.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You should consult your doctor or go to the nearest medical center for complete clinical and laboratory assessment such as :

1- Complete physical examination.
2- Stool analysis.
3- Complete blood count and other routine tests.
4- Endoscopy.
5- Ultrasound or CT scan of the abdomen.

Treatment depends upon the cause, so it's very important to do the previous tests.
I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have any further questions.

Take care.
