My son is away in graduate school in NY and I am in Mississippi. He s been having shortness of breath, heaviness in his chest, and muscle shaking in his arms and legs. Hypertension and heart disease are extremely prevalent in our family history. Everything from aneurysm repairs, to bypasses, to heart attacks. He is only 23 years old. He went to a clinic and they said he does not have the flu or pneumonia, and referred him to a neurologist for the shaking of the extremities tomorrow. His blood pressure was 150/90 at the time of the visit. I told him to get a bp monitor and start a log, taking his bp and pulse every morning and every evening, and also at the time of these symptoms. And then go back to the clinic and show them if there is a pattern. I thought he might possibly benefit from taking a daily blood pressure medication. Please advise.
