What Do Swelling And Inflammation In The Left Foot Indicate?

My husband s left foot is red and swollen on the top. There is one spot on the top of the big toe that is red. His toes on that foot are also swollen. It is sore and hurts but no itching. I don t see any blisters on the bite. We need advice to see if he needs to go to Clinic or ER. Thanks,

Thanks for the query. I understand your oncern.
Swelllin on foot withredness &pain suggests -
- cellulitis of the foot ..may be due to secondary infection of a local lesion .
-possibility ofdeep vein thrombosis /vericosities.
*In either of cases you need to consult a surgeey (podologist/vascular surgeon)& start specific treatment immediately.
Self care-complete rest to the the leg.
Do not massage/foment dictor advises after comming to diagnosis.
