Hi..
Can understand your concern..
As per your complain pain after extraction is not an unusual finding and the longevity of pain depends upon the type of extraction..
In case if you have a very firm tooth and there is more damage to the gum tissues while extraction the tenderness of the gums and pain can last for a longer period of time..
As in your case after 11 days if you have tender gums you need not to worry as slowly and gradually the tenderness will subside..
The pain which is radiating will also slowly become milder and you can take painkillers for relief..
In case if the pain does not subside you should consult your
dentist again or you can take a
second opinion from an ORAL SURGEON to get an x ray done to get ruled out for any foreign body inclusion or any broken root piece left out in the socket which can cause infection and pain..
Dry socket can also be checked for as
severe pain is one of the feature of dry socket..
In case of dry socket irrigation of socket followed by
hydrogen peroxide,
betadine and saline irrigation followed by
zinc oxide eugenol dressing placement in the socket which has to be changed every alternate day has to be done..
In case of any left out remnant in the socket removal of the same followed by irrigation and antibiotics and painkiller can relieve..
Hope your query is solved..
